Competition Schedule

The 7th Zhang International Violin Competition provides a comprehensive online and offline platform for young violinists worldwide. Participants are grouped by age and receive expert feedback from an international jury, ensuring each performer has the opportunity to showcase their talent and benefit from constructive guidance.

1. Registration

Dates 8 March – 15 May 2026

Participants must complete registration via the official online form. Groups will be automatically assigned by date of birth. All registration details must be fully submitted; incomplete information may affect eligibility. Note: Participants should complete registration first before submitting the performance video.

2. Video Submission

Dates 10 March – 15 May 2026

  • Registered participants may submit their performance video using either the official piano accompaniment videos provided on the website or their own piano accompaniment.
  • Log in to your account to submit the performance video (Refer to the [Video Submission Guide] for format requirements).
  • Videos will appear on the website within 10 minutes of successful submission. If the video does not display correctly, please contact the competition team.

3. Evaluation

Dates 16 May – 3 June 2026

All submissions will be evaluated by the international jury panel, composed of leading violin educators and performers. Each participant will receive a detailed assessment report with constructive feedback to guide future musical development.

4. Results Announcement

Date 6 June 2026

Competition results will be published on the official website and major platforms. Participants and teachers can download certificates and jury reports from the online learning centre. Gold award winners’ performance videos will be shared publicly across major platforms following the announcement.

5. Awards Concert & Exchange Activities

Awards Concert (Sydney): 25 July 2026 (tentative)

Exchange Activities (Sydney): 18 July – 27 July 2026 (tentative)

  • All participants and teachers are invited to the Sydney awards concert.
  • Participants may join online and in-person masterclasses, expert lectures, and international exchange activities.
  • Gold award winners may be invited to perform at the awards concert or participate in special masterclasses.
