The Zhang International Violin Competition provides young violinists with a global platform to showcase talent, receive expert feedback, and engage in international musical exchange.

All participants are recognized based on their performance according to the following categories:

Gold Award Certificate + juror report + A$100 membership voucher Performance featured globally, invitation to the Sydney Awards Concert, priority for masterclasses, and participation in musical exchange activities.
Silver Award Certificate + juror report Invitation to the Sydney Awards Concert and participation in musical exchange activities.
Bronze Award Certificate + detailed juror report Invitation to the Sydney Awards Concert and participation in musical exchange activities.
Participation Award Certificate + detailed juror report Invitation to the Sydney Awards Concert and participation in musical exchange activities.

Special Opportunities for Gold Award Winners

Performance videos of Gold Award winners will be showcased globally through the competition’s official website and media platforms, including WeChat, Facebook, YouTube, and more.

Gold winners will be invited to perform at the Sydney Awards Concert in July and will have the opportunity to participate in masterclasses led by internationally renowned musicians, further expanding their global musical perspective.

Outstanding Teacher Award

To recognise excellence in music education, the competition presents the "Outstanding Teacher Award" to the instructors of all Gold Award winners. Recipients will receive:

  • Honorary certificate recognising teaching excellence
  • One-year teacher membership with full access to online resources
  • Invitation to observe Sydney masterclasses and the Awards Concert
  • Opportunities for teaching workshops and professional development
  • Professional support and international exchange opportunities

Outstanding Teaching Institute Award

In recognition of teaching institutions that have made outstanding contributions to youth violin education, the competition has established the Outstanding Teaching Institution Award.

Teaching institutions that actively encourage student participation in the competition and achieve excellent results may be selected by the Competition Organising Committee to receive the following recognition and benefits:

  • Outstanding Teaching Institution Trophy and Certificate
  • Free Teacher Membership for the institution (one year), providing access to the full range of online teaching resources
  • Featured interview and promotion across our official platforms, sharing the institution’s successful educational experience
  • Invitation to observe Sydney masterclasses and the Awards Concert
  • Opportunities for teaching workshops and professional development
  • Professional support and international exchange opportunities

Music Exchange and Growth

The competition focuses not only on results but also on the learning and growth of every participant. All students are invited to post-competition concerts and exchange events, fostering ongoing musical development and international collaboration with peers and mentors worldwide.
