The Zhang International Violin Competition is a prestigious global platform dedicated to nurturing young violinists. Building on its legacy, it has now evolved into an international competition, entering its 7th worldwide year with a focus on digital-aided learning and step-by-step multimedia violin education.
Founded by the renowned violin pedagogue Professor Peter Shixiang Zhang, whose teaching career spans over 70 years, the competition reflects his vision of combining artistic excellence, educational innovation, and international exchange. Participants are invited to showcase their talent, receive professional evaluations from an international jury, and engage with a global network of educators and peers.
Professor Peter Shixiang Zhang’s students have won awards in major international competitions since the 1980s. Renowned for his pioneering teaching methods, he was described by Yehudi Menuhin as "one of the greatest teachers in the violin world today."
An internationally acclaimed violinist who served as Head of Strings at the Sydney Conservatorium. Recipient of the Order of Australia for her services to music and artistic excellence.
The 7th Zhang International Violin Competition is honored to present a distinguished international jury panel. The jury evaluate performance videos and provide detailed reports, offering valuable guidance for musical growth.
Gold award winners may be invited to perform as soloists at the award ceremony concert. Detailed schedules will be published soon.
